Product Questions
Are your products 100% real silk?
Yes. All Adora Silk products are made from 100% pure mulberry silk, produced by a specific species of silkworm - Bombyx Mori. Silk is a natural protein fibre that is tightly woven together, making it amazingly soft, smooth and durable.
How good is your silk quality?
Silk quality is classified into 11 grades - 6A, 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A, A, B, C, D, E, F, with 6A being the best. Higher grade raw silk has a consistent pearly white colour with greater fibre length, strength and smoothness. We pride ourselves in quality and use only the highest grade 6A mulberry silk for all our silk products.
Is your silk safe and non-toxic?
Rest assured that any Adora silk you bring home is natural, safe and non-toxic. They are certified STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, the world's most trusted safety label in the textile industry. It means everything we produce has been independently tested to be free from harmful dyes and chemicals, from raw material to the finished products.
What’s the difference between silk and satin?
The terms “silk” and “satin” are often misused interchangeably. However, they are very different from each other. Silk refers to a type of fabric material such as Mulberry silk; satin is a particular type of weave used to create the fabric, with extra lustre on the front and matt finish at the back.
Most of the time when people talk about satin, they refer to satin-woven fabric made of synthetic materials such as nylon or polyester. Synthetic satin also has a smooth texture but can be “slippery”, while silk is a natural protein fibre with a long list of unique properties and benefits for your skin, hair, sleep and overall wellness. This includes retaining skin moisture, reducing sleep creases and hair frizz, regulating body temperature when you sleep.
Is your silk pillowcase machine-washable?
Our silk pillowcases are machine-washable for your time saving. We recommend you wash on a delicate cycle in cold water, and use a mesh laundry bag to protect silk from any abrasive damage. Remember never use bleach or stain removers on silk. Choose a neutral pH detergent designed for silk or wool, or use your regular shampoo if silk detergent is not available in hand. How to care for my silk product?
Silk is a delicate fabric. It is suggested that you keep silk away from anything that’s sharp or may cause a snag like earrings, zippers, broken nails, sticky tape, hooks etc. If you need to put silk away for a period of time, store carefully using moth repellent and avoid direct sunlight to prevent colour fading. With proper care, you can enjoy and retain silk’s beauty for years and years.

When will my order ship?
All orders will be processed within 1 business day after receiving your order confirmation email. Once your order has been shipped, you will receive another email notification with shipping updates. Normally standard shipping takes 3-10 business days, and express shipping takes 1-3 business days.
How can I track my order?
Use the tracking number included in your shipping confirmation email to check order status. If you don’t receive the email, please contact us at hello@adorasilk.com.au.
Can I return or exchange my order?
If you wish to return or exchange your order, make sure you get in touch with us within 30 days of your purchase. Items that have been used, damaged, or removed from the original packaging are not eligible to return/exchange. View our full return & exchange policy for more information.
